Speedy Recovery and Goodies!

Friday, December 19th, 2008

David has been making a hasty recovery, thank goodness. He was recently seen out and about, though he had to miss the Next Doctor Press Launch. And word from Russell T Davies says he’ll be fit for filming soon! And what’s this I hear about a possible Doctor Who Musical?

With that good news, I’ll inform you of our new goodies!

We’ve got….Doctor Who Confidentials caps of 2×10 The New World of Who and 2×11 The Fright Stuff. Anddd screencaps of the new The New Doctor trailer (that was funny to say).

Which obviously brings me to media, which obviously, we have the new The Next Doctor trailer (again, that funny phrase!) and also Doctor Who Confidential – Meet Martha Jones part one, Doctor Who Confidential – Meet Martha Jones part two, and Doctor Who Confidential – Meet Martha Jones part three.

Which leads me to a very small side note about the Doctor Who Confidentials…

I’ve taken clips of David wherever he’s shown for a decent amount of time, or says something significant, and mixed them together. You’ll noticed especially on Doctor Who Confidential – Meet Martha Jones part two that I taken two interview clips and put them together for space, yet it is still short. This is what you can expect of future DWC media clips :)

Also, we have several new articles.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday! I don’t know how much I’ll get to you this week since it’s the holidays, but I will let you in on this: I have a year goal I’m approaching :)

Thanks! and stay tuned!

Injury Forces Tennant From Hamlet

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Doctor Who actor David Tennant was forced to pull out of a performance of Hamlet on Monday because of an “ongoing back injury”.

The 37-year-old is currently starring in the Royal Shakespeare Company production at London’s Novello Theatre.

A RSC spokeswoman said: “We’re waiting to hear whether he’ll be able to perform tonight on press night.”

The sold out production, which also stars Patrick Stewart, has just transferred from Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Edward Bennett, who normally plays Laertes in the production, played Hamlet in Tennant’s absence and received a “standing ovation”, according to the RSC.

Tickets for the London shows sold out within three hours when they went on sale in September.

However, Tennant’s back trouble is not the first problem to have affected the show.

Last week the RSC confirmed it had been targeted by counterfeiters.

Around 800 people were warned to arrive early to performances to exchange tickets over fears forgeries had been issued.

Tennant, who is best known for playing Doctor Who, recently announced he would no longer play the Time Lord.

The actor stepped into the Tardis in 2005, and will leave the role after four special episodes are broadcast in 2009 and 2010

We hope you feel better soon, David!
