Boohoo :( But Yay for video!

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Unfortunately, nothing David was associated with (Doctor Who or Einstein and Eddington) won any awards, but David did present an award to Jane Tranter. I have an interview that was made right after the BAFTAs, viewable here in our media! Oh, and I just got David Presenting the BAFTA, too :) (Edit: I just got a higher quality version of him presenting the award.)

Also, I have a lot of media videos to upload, so be in tuned for that :)

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

We do apologize for being terrible and not updating on exactly April 18, but I’m sure if David were to see this, he would understand.

However, we do bring you goodies for the gallery if you’ve not already seen them, as well as a bit more news for the podcast.

In Tennantcast related issues, our first episode is available for download or to listen to at the site. We’re currently planning for our second episode (we really appreciate and love the feedback and Twitter followers, you guys rock!) Remember to check out the latest post with how you can interact!

Kelsey is still working on the Planet of the Dead screencaps. Bare with her, school as been keeping her on her toes and I’m sure you all know how that is ;)

For the gallery we have DWM Issue #405, Planet of the Dead Trailer Screencaps, Photoshoot #26, Photoshoot #28 and Tennant Tape 5

Oh! And also, we finally have a new layout! You dig it? Cause I think it’s hip… :D

Doctor Who Wins Best Sci-Fi TV Theme

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Doctor Who wins best sci-fi TV theme tune of all time!

British science fiction drama Doctor Who has been declared the winner of a poll conducted by leading sci-fi website Totalscifionline.com to find out the best sci-fi TV theme tune of all time.

Doctor Who first aired on the BBC in 1963 and ran for 26 years starring a succession of different actors in the title role. It was picked up again by the channel in 2005 when first Christopher Eccleston and then David Tennant took on the role of the mysterious Doctor.

Red Dwarf, starring Chris Barrie and Craig Charles, came in second place, while The X-Files, starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, rounded out the top three.

The original Doctor Who theme was composed by Australian-born composer, Ron Grainer in 1963 and arranged by Delia Derbyshire. Derbyshire produced the iconic theme tune by combining a tape loop of a struck piano string with the sound of test oscillators and filters. The theme tune has been reworked a number of times over the years, with the current version arranged by Murray Gold.

Matt McAllister, Editor of Totalscifionline.com said:
“The poll result proves that in addition to being one of the most popular science fiction shows ever created, Doctor Who also boasts the most iconic sci-fi theme tune. Grainer and Derbyshire’s theme manages to convey the outlandish quality of the show and is instantly recognisable to fans throughout the world just by its opening bars.”

Final Top Ten:

1. Doctor Who
2. Red Dwarf
3. The X-Files
4. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
5. Star Trek
6. Thunderbirds
7. The Twilight Zone
8. Battlestar Galactica
9. Quantum Leap
10. The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

Tennantcast is now ready!

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

We truly apologize for the slow announcement…We were too occupied with our other site to remember we needed to update our first site. It’s been complicated, and we’re still working on the RSS feed to integrate the podcast onto iTunes, but for now (and this will be worked out) we have an audio player on our site!

http://tennantcast.com!

Bear with us, as this is our first time, I’ve already got an appointment with a friend to begin composing a song and we’ve already had some feedback. I will admit, there are a few things that need to be done, but you can be guarantee these things will be accomplished shortly. We thank you very much for your time already!

Also, the Tennantively updates will resume again shortly. It’s been very complicated in our personal lives and our internet lives!

Enjoy!

Big news!

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Hello all!

Kari and I are notorious for announcing big updates the day of releasing the update, but I decided this couldn’t be a surprise. Plus, it was simply killing me not to announce or give a hint all these months in planning…But…Kari and I both are extremely excited to announce…Our podcast!

April 18th, David Tennant’s birthday, we are releasing the first episode of our (long term) podcast, Tennantcast. It’s sort of a birthday present for him, but we found podcasting was fun as is, might as well talk about a subject we’re both fond of!

Right now, Kari is working on a separate domain for the podcast, to be released April 18th as well. My friend, Sarah, is editing for us (it was her idea!) and everything is underway now…!

We are looking for comments, feedback, and possibly even guest hosts (you will be interviewed, of course. But don’t be shy!) We’re looking to make this a long term commitment and we would greatly appreciate you tuning in to give your support.

I also decided to make this announcement, because Radio Free Skaro, a fantastic Doctor Who podcast, kindly announced our plans on air. A huge thank you to them!

Thank you all again!
Kelsey & Kari

P.S. As far as Tennantively goes, I have POTD screencaps…I just have to sort through them :)
