Tennantcast #27 – My Precious now available!
Filed in: Podcast. Author: Kelsey. Comment: Add a comment (0)

It’s been a while since I’ve updated Tennantively with Tennantcast information – my bad!

A short episode this time! For this recording, Kelsey and Kari are there (kind of like old times) since Flossie can’t be with them because of a recording mix-up. But as her spirit is there, the two girls talk about David and Pudsey, reading bedtime stories (in which Kari has been waiting for this moment) and how David narrowly missed Zachary Quinto at the NTAs (in which Kelsey would have combusted and died from) but he’s still with the lovely Catherine Tate. They watched the St. Trinian’s II trailer (giggling like bmmad) and will be atching the rest of the video, plus Waters of Mars and Dreamland discussions will be on next time because Flossie threatened if she heard “waters” and “mars” in the same sentence. Of course picture comment of the day is always an inspirational moment and the big hub that started it all, Tennantively, has a brand spanking new layout!

Doctor Who star David Tennant to regenerate as children’s storyteller
Filed in: News. Author: Kelsey. Comment: Add a comment (0)

Doctor Who star David Tennant is to regenerate as a children’s storyteller this Christmas, it has been announced.

The actor, who will also be seen this Christmas in the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Hamlet, is to swap the Tardis for the bedtime story chair on CBeebies.

Tennant, soon to be seen bowing out of his role as a Time Lord, will read five stories during the festive season.

On Christmas Eve he will be seen reading The Christmas Bear by Henrietta and Paul Stickland.

Tennant’s acclaimed portrayal of Hamlet, which was lauded on stage, will be screened on BBC2.

Viewers will see him bow out as BBC1′s Doctor Who this Christmas when he appears in a two-part story The End Of Time alongside veteran actor Bernard Cribbins

The special Christmas episodes will see the Doctor reunited with Donna Noble, played by comic actress Catherine Tate before he regenerates.

Tennant, who announced he was quitting Doctor Who a year ago, is being replaced by Matt Smith, 27.

Smith will become the eleventh actor to appear as the Doctor on television when the new series of the popular show is aired on BBC next year.

Thanks to the awesome people at Reader’s Digest for letting us know!

READER’S DIGEST EXCLUSIVE:
David Tennant has nothing to say to Matt Smith

David Tennant has admitted he has “nothing to say” to new Time Lord, Matt Smith.

Tennant told Reader’s Digest, in an exclusive interview for the December issue, that he’d spoken to his successor several times “but there’s nothing to say.  I think we both thought we’d be able to exchange lots of ideas. But actually it’s none of my business how Matt does it and nothing I say can really help him.”

Talking about his final foray as the Doctor in this year’s Christmas special, Tennant says “This year we’ve done something different.  It is still set in Christmas, but it’s perhaps not got quite as much, er…Christmas cheer as before.”  Tennant adds that come Christmas Day he’ll be watching his own send off. “Just to enjoy the moment. It’s my last Doctor Who – it will be nice to witness that.”

Tennant is now the proud possessor of his own sonic screwdriver, the Doctor’s signature gizmo. “I have one of the real things! I’ve only once used it to impress a child. It was a charity thing but it was quite cool. He was only about five, so it was a nice, wide-eyed moment.”

While he “doesn’t have any regrets” about leaving the iconic series Tennant is prepared for the inevitable “pangs of jealousy” once he’s handed over the Doctor’s mantle.

But Tennant fans shouldn’t think he’ll be resting on his laurels.

Hinting at possible future plans, Tennant reveals that as a child he loved Marvel’s The Avenger’s, a comic about a team of crime-fighting superheroes. “It’s yet to be made into a film, although I think there are rumblings.  I’d be quite happy to be involved.”  Indeed the film is in pre-production, with Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson already signed on.

David Tennant, superhero? Fans would say he’s played that role already.

David Tennant voted Sexiest Man
Filed in: News. Author: Kari. Comment: Add a comment (0)

David Tennant has been voted Britain’s sexiest man in a poll of women over 30.

The Doctor Who star beat James Bond hunk Daniel Craig to the title in the survey by allaboutyou.com, with a whopping 70 per cent of the 1,000 people polled voting for him.

Daniel was voted second sexiest with 56 per cent of votes, closely followed by Moulin Rouge star Ewan McGregor who earned 55 per cent of the poll, in which people could vote for more than one man.

Former 007 star Sean Connery was placed fourth with 51 per cent of over 30s women naming him their sexiest man, followed by Sharpe star Sean Bean with 47 per cent of the vote.

Colin Firth was sixth favourite with 45 per cent of the vote, Lewis Hamilton was seventh with 32 per cent, Gok Wan and Lenny Henry were joint eighth with 17 per cent of the vote, Huw Edwards was ninth with 15 per cent, Jeremy Paxman was tenth with 13 per cent and Charles Dance was last with nine per cent.

allaboutyou.com Editor Bernadette Fallon said: “It is very interesting to see that allaboutyou.com readers find David Tennant the sexiest man in Britain – not an obvious choice considering the competition he was up against. Huw Edwards, Charles Dance and Jeremy Paxman all fared quite badly which proves that British woman want some eye candy as well as intelligence.”
